• I have a portion of Mary’s church certificate of marriage to Michael Lyden that in dicates she was married in 1884 in St. Paul’s in Philadelphia, PA. It indicates that her name is Mary Hartman, so we speculate that she was married yet another time. This evidence was supported by her daughter listing a John Hartman as her father on her 1906 marriage record and listing her mother’s maiden name as Mahoney.
• On the 1900 census, it indicates that Mary has 4 children, 3 living. As of yet, we only have a little evidence of this from a picture that my grandmother had, labeled Frank Hartman — her grandmother’s brother. I have not added this information to her tree because I have no direct evidence.
• My grandmother also had photos of two people named Bill Mahoney and Catherine Mahoney. They are labeled “Great-grandmother’s brother” and “Great-grandmother’s sister”. Mary Mahoney was her great-grandmother, so it supports her maiden name. I have not yet been able to locate any further information.
• I searched NJ State Archives for Mary Mahoney’s death records from 1920-1937. I did not find any certificate. I intend to search up to the available date of 1940 and then go back and repeat my search.

• According to family stories, the reason for William’s divorce was that his wife Agnes felt he was a “mama’s boy.” Nothing else has been passed down regarding the divorce.
• On the two available census records after his divorce, William still indicates that he is married.
