Mother: Patience Mulley
Father: Joseph Game
Death Date: 27 Jan 1905 in Bramley, Leeds, Yorkshire, England
Marriage
William Winstanley on 25 May 1863 in Bradford, Yorkshire, Yorkshire, England
Children
John William Winstanley born 1863
Elizabeth Winstanley born 1866
Alice Winstanley on 6 Apr 1868
Clara Winstanley born 1877
Ann Eliza Winstanley on 18 Aug 1879
Census Information
1851: Troston, Suffolk, England
1861: Bradford, Leeds, Yorkshire, England
1871: Holbeck, Leeds, Yorkshire, England
1881: Holbeck, Leeds, Yorkshire, England
1891: Wortley, Leeds, Yorkshire, England
1901: Hunslet, Leeds, Yorkshire, England
Miscellaneous Facts
- I found an entry for a William Winstanley that died in the area he lived but this William died in 1874, before Eliza’s last two children are born. I am planning on sending for Clara and Ann’s birth records to see what father is listed and also sending for this William’s death record to see how much it matches up. Perhaps my ancestor Eliza had an active widowhood!
Research Goals
- Send for Eliza’s birth records
- Determine the parentage of the younger children.

Just a note that with the wonderful help of the plugin creator, my links are back to full functioning order.
I’ve also been able to renew my subscription to Ancestry.com, which I had had to let go about eight months ago. I’m heading to Philadelphia in about a week or two for more research and I’m hoping to make either a trip to the NJ state archives or down to Salem or Cumberland country archives in the next few months.
I’m working on scanning documents and finishing off the people in this blog.

The plugin I use all over this blog — to link to places and people — it changed its format to link to each post and unfortunately, the conversion script to go from one format to the other failed to work. I’m trying to sort it out now, but I’m not sure what to do if I can’t get it to work.
